Under the headline ‘Wind farm objectors are urged to make a stand against applications’, today’s Courier highlights growing expectations for the Fowlis Wester convention on 29^th August.

Jim McColl from East Strathearn Community Council draws attention to the challenges facing communities across Perth & Kinross: ‘There are eight wind farms in the pipeline in this small area, totalling 99 turbines [Save Glen Lednock research], which would industrialise our precious countryside and seriously damage community life. That’s not including the six wind farms already in operation and two further developments already approved, about to be built’.

Martin Downing of Save Glen Lednock will be one of a number of speakers at the convention, which is expected to attract representatives from 15 Community Councils, plus grassroots campaigners from across Perth and Kinross.
